About Giclees: The French word ‘la giclée’ means ‘that which is sprayed or squirted’. Giclee printing is a type of inkjet printing, but not all inkjet prints are giclee prints. The type of ink, paper, and quality of the images are all important factors. Giclee printing is meant to produce a product at a higher quality and longer lifespan than a standard desktop printer.

About the Pigment-based Ink: Created to redefine fine art printing, UltraChrome pigment-based archival ink offers superior water, scratch and fade resistance that professionals demand for exhibition quality prints. Engineered with the latest fade-resistant technology to last longer and dry instantly for smudge resistant prints. Specially formulated to deliver photographic-quality prints and laser-sharp text.

About the printing: Outstanding image-quality architecture using MicroPiezo® AMC™ technology with resolutions up to 5760 × 1440 optimized dpi (dots per inch) with droplets as small as 2 picoliters for the finest details.  The pinnacle of detail with AccuPhoto™ HD2 imaging using 9-color, 8-channel print head technology.

About Paper: SND offers a discriminating selection of archival photographic and fine art papers. The Cranes Edition for professional fine artist Kathryn Mapes Turner was printed on MOAB Paper Entrada 300 Museum 100% Cotton Rag.

What MOAB says about this paper: “Entrada Rag is what put the Moab brand on the map. This award-winning 100% cotton smooth fine art paper helps bring your vision to print through superb ink handling and sharpness. Entrada is an archival acid- and lignin-free paper with an expanded color gamut, natural contrast and high ink load. It is compatible with both dye and pigment inks ensuring that when used with archival inks, your prints will last for generations.”

About Varnish: Archival paper needs to be treated with care. This is a Lacquer-based Spray that improves Water-Fastness, Adds UV- and Scratch-Protection, and Doubles the Life of the Print.
