Steel Sun Sage Project
Welcome to The SteelSunSage Project page! This is an ongoing photography project by Sarah Nelsen Designs with the mission to inspire people to find beauty in every living environment (wherever you call home) and appreciate the essence of what makes it unique.
The SteelSunSage Project, is inspired by the history and beauty of three diverse environments that have been key influences in Sarah Nelsen’s life and work. Nelsen began this project after moving east to Pittsburgh after living in the two resort towns of Jackson Hole, WY and Palm Springs, CA. She wanted to find her hometown of Pittsburgh’s own treasures that make it an exceptional town. Although not recognized as a resort town, Pittsburgh offered Sarah a rich history in industry and the steel mills and factories have become Nelsen’s grand “mountains” of the east rivaling her beloved mountains and valleys of the West in grandeur, personality, and history.
