Sarah Teresa Nelsen is an art director, graphic designer, and illustrator. Bold, vibrant visual solutions. Outstanding leader with a blue-collar work ethic. Expansive portfolio spanning two decades and over 50 clients.

Highly motivated by the roots and growing stories of businesses, organizations, and individuals, Nelsen loves to get her hands on a project that can change minds and initiate action. She is armed with 20+ years of experience in this career of creative direction, graphic design, brand development, marketing, advertising, and client relations. Recently, Nelsen founded a socially conscious, therapeutic visual art initiative for mental health and wellness in Pittsburgh and the surrounding communities. Nelsen has worked with clients across the country giving her a rare perspective on various demographics. She has called the mountains of the West (Jackson Hole, WY) and the deserts of the west coast (Palm Springs, CA) home, and is currently settled in the hills of western Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh, PA).

Educationally, Nelsen is armed with a BA in Graphic Design & Integrative Arts from Penn State and a handful of Masters courses in Sustainable Design from Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD). She studied graphic design and cultural studies in Sydney, Australia at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) while studying abroad.

The richness, simplicity, and rejuvenating qualities of natural outdoor spaces inspires her tremendously. She strives to make time to paint and integrate creativity into everyday life. Hiking and yoga or biking with my daughters, husband, and two rescue pups is where you can find me when the sun comes out. It is here in Pittsburgh, I grew up, left, and returned.

My husband, our two daughters, and the crazy, big world around us fuel my creativity and teach me what life is all about. Our two big, loud, and wild rescue pups keep us mindful of the moment.
